FAQ

+ I have always been intimidated by Financial Advisors and the Planning Process, do I really need an Advisor?

Everyone could use help. Please don't feel intimidated. Reach out and let's see if there is a need we can help meet and if we are even a good fit to work together. There won't be any high pressure sales, and discussions of products/solutions don't really come until later in the process anyhow.

+ Who are your clients?

Our clients are people who want to maximize their hard work and ensure that their money is working as hard as they do, but also realize their time is invaluable.

They want freedom to control their own schedules and flexibility go and do what they want, when they want, where they want.

Driving to sit in an Advisor's office during their hours, taking you away from work, family time, vacation, or any other productive task is not getting the most value out of your time. So we have taken the process of Financial Planning virtual, and we meet you where you are. You can work and live and travel anywhere, and anytime that you need help we are here to meet that need. No more being tied to one location, no more one office.

Beyond that, we specialize in working with young to mid-career professionals to do comprehensive financial planning. Whether you're single, starting a family, or are more established and need help fine-tuning everything we are here to help.

We enjoy working with people who want develop good long term financial habits, and are eager to learn so that making informed financial decisions in the future becomes easier and a more natural practice. We will walk with you every step of the way, and enjoy being a resource to bounce any and all ideas off of.

+ This is all online?

Yes. And that is a good thing for you. See this article about working with a remote advisor.

+ Are you a Fiduciary?

Absolutely! Yes! We will always act in the client's best interest according the fiduciary standard. We are Fee-Only, so we don't make commissions on anything. Our job is to inform you so you can make the best decisions for you, regardless of what the tool to get there is.

+ Can we trust Snowcap when we don't meet Advisors in person?

The biggest thing that is differentiated from the traditional relationship with a Financial Advisor is a fancy office and the overhead that comes with it. As a result, we are more efficient and our lower fee structures reflect that.

We also never touch your money. When we talk investments, the money is always held by our Custodian Altruist, or large providers in special cases. They hold your account and the money itself, and you can use their sites and apps to track and access the funds at any time.

+ Don't most Advisors have offices we can visit?

This firm is designed to fill a need that is sorely lacking in the Financial Planning industry, a fully engaging online Client and Planner relationship. Our mission is to see this become a successful model and to drive change in the Financial Services industry. We are committed to this goal.

However, in the right circumstances it may be possible for us to meet in person. This is decided on a case by case basis. Established clients especially have this option available to them. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions regarding this topic!

+ But can we stop by your office and say hello?

We are committed to this mission and don't even keep a regular office. That allows us to stay nimble and increase our availability for you. Feel free to call or let's meet online!

However, if you're in the Castle Rock, CO area, we can always set something up to meet in the home office... or even better I love to get out and grab a beer or coffee with my clients!
